euphondisson
euphondisson was formed in early 2001 by nicholas martinez on guitar, gerald hansen on bass, charlotte auRevoir on guitar and kelli newman on drums. initially, the band was nothing more that a way for the four of us to get together and make some noise. We were all old friends and had played in a few bands together in the past including spsmds/takeroot and eau. in september of 2001 seth shumway (another former member of spsmds/takroot and eau) moved to washington and naturally joined the group on keyboards and vocals. we released our self titled debut on our own label, the scatological liberation front, in early 2002.
since the basis of our music was improv we amassed hours and hours of recordings and started releasing albums quite regularly. in the spring of 2002 we took the plunge into performing some of our "songs" live. for our second show in october 2002, michael sheets joined us by providing live visuals. he became a permanent part of our live show from then on, so we made him part of the group officially. in early 2003 we all moved into a house together and built a home recording studio in the basement. in the spring of 2004 kelli newman left the band. seth shumway took over on drums and we began performing live with more regularity. euphondisson continued to release albums and perform live until november of 2005.
